Les Houches is a 5-10 minute drive
from Chamonix at the entrance to the Mont-Blanc Valley. The apartment is on the
Rue de Bellevue next to the Le Prarion Telecabine.
By Car:
The road is
motorway/dual-carriageway all the way to the resort from the direction of
Geneva, Paris and Lyon. Travel on the A40 past Geneva, following the signs for
the Tunnel du Mont-Blanc. After driving across a raised section of road held up
by stilts you will drive through two tunnels. Just after the second tunnel you
will see a sign for "Les Houches Centre". Turn off at this junction. Follow the
signs to Les Houches. You will arrive at a T-Junction in front of the Bellevue
cablecar. Turn right. Follow this road for about 1km. Le Grand Tétras
apartment building is on your left. If you arrive at the Le Prarion Telecabine
you have gone too far.
By Air:
80 km from Geneva Airport, a
one hour drive to Les Houches. 212 km from Lyon-Satolas Airport, a two hour
drive to Les Houches.
By Train:
The nearest TGV(fast train)
station is St Gervais/Le Fayet, 17 km from Les Houches. Regular connections to
the train station in Les Houches are by the “Mont-Blanc Express”
tourist train.
Buses:
Regular buses run to and from
Geneva airport to the centre of Chamonix.
